Tobias and Mozart AKA Reeces and Kenny

Thank you so much for our Poorly Drawn Pets Portraits. That was a really fun fundraiser and we were so happy to participate.

I found your thank you card (sent last year, 2023) where you share photos of our shelter babies Reeces and Kenny, asking us to email you photos and stories.

Reeces soon became Tobias and we call him Toto and Totoro. Kenny quickly became Mozart and we him Motzy and Motz Motz.

Tobias still has some feral habits that will always stay with him simply because that seems to be the way with those that get that start in life, but he is sweet and cuddly and warms up quickly to strangers once he gets comfortable. Tobias is beautiful and very opinionated with serious head butts, which are his love bumps, but can make a good cup of coffee go all over if you’re not expecting his love. He and Mozart are dear friends and they made friends with our two outdoor boys with zero issues.

Mozart is not a cat. Of course he is, but he is more dog than cat. He fetches and pants with his tongue hanging out after many retrievals and drops! Yes, he drops the ball or magnet when he returns.  His favorite things to chase are the alphabet magnets that he pulls off of the fridge. He brings them to us and drops them at our feet and lies down until we slide them across the floor. I have a video of it on my Instagram, handle @leamanamahra. He doesn’t snuggle much but wants to be close. He lies close by, but only rarely on us. He sleeps at the foot of the bed or on the floor right by the bed. He greets us when we get home and follows us everywhere just like a pup in a pack. He talks a lot and has the most sincere and beautiful heart. He is a one of a kind best friend to my daughter and me, and we love him with all of our hearts. Some cats can be spiteful and lovable. He is just pure love. We couldn’t have been luckier with our pick. He is of our hearts and just the sweetest.

Oh, and he loves shoes. He loves everyone’s shoes. As soon as feet come out he is on them—they belong to him. And he loves stroller rides and zooms around the house in my daughter’s arms on her hover board. He loves the hover board.

They are the best.
