These pets are homeward bound

Every living creature deserves comfort, peace, and love. Everything we do at WAIF—every program we operate, every day of compassionate care we provide, even every photo we post online—all shares one purpose: to get animals into homes. When we see a formerly homeless animal leave our shelter in the arms of a loving new family, it reinforces why we do what we do.

We have celebrated several adoptions over the last few weeks! Meet just a few of our recent adoptees:

Josie was just a few months old and had been at WAIF for about six weeks when her family took her home. This sweet lab/shepherd mix is friendly, active, and bunches of fun. She’s still got some growing to do, and we’re so happy she’ll get to do it with her forever family!

Who said black cats are unlucky? This very fortunate feline found her forever family after just two weeks at the shelter! At just one year old, Shoyu still has oodles of kitten energy and loves to play—and now she has a loving family who can play with her whenever she wants.

Pleakly has been at WAIF since he was just a baby. After 18 weeks of loving care from our shelter staff, this handsome tabby went home at the beginning of October. Congratulations, little buddy!

Spongebob was another of the many kittens who came to our shelter over the summer. At just 19 weeks old, he has spent over half his life at WAIF—and now he will spend the rest of his life with his loving family. We are thrilled he found his perfect home.

Four-year-old Nigel went home at the end of September after 10 weeks at WAIF. This orange tabby is as sweet as he is handsome, and we know his family will love having him around.

Thank you to these and many other adopters who have taken home WAIF animals recently! When you adopt a pet from a shelter, you change that animal’s life forever—and you make room in our kennels for more animals to be saved.
