Sales Associate (Part-Time) Freeland Thrift Store

Our WAIF thrift store in Freeland seeks a part-time sales associate to work approximately 20 hours per week. Schedule may include weekends. Duties include organizing and merchandising of donated items for resale. Perform general daily stock maintenance by paying specific attention to keeping display racks and shelves organized and full, while ensuring the retail floor is safe and appealing to customers. May occasionally assist with general janitorial clean-ups, both inside and outside of the store.

Qualified applicants should enjoy working with the public in a fast-paced environment. A helpful attitude focused on friendly customer service with a sense of humor is a plus! Cashiering experience helpful but not required. Position will require heavy lifting of up to 50lbs. If you love animals and retail, we want you to apply!

Animal Care Technician (Part-Time)

Two part-time positions available. 24 hours per week with schedules Sun-Mon-Tues or Thurs-Fri-Sat.

Whidbey Animals’ Improvement Foundation (WAIF) is seeking qualified P/T Animal Care Technicians who will be responsible for the daily care of shelter animals and program support. One position will be required to work weekends and the second position is required to work three days a week. Positions will also assist the public when admitting and adopting animals, and promote responsible pet ownership. Duties also include kennel cleaning, general health care of animals and light office work. Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and registration required.

Shelter Manager (Full-time)

Whidbey Animals’ Improvement Foundation (WAIF) is seeking a qualified and committed leader to help lead animal welfare efforts to ensure best practices for animals for intake, positive outcomes, and responsible pet ownership.

Position Summary:

Provides committed leadership and direction for the efficient and smooth operation of shelter operations, including medical services, front office, field services (municipal contracts), and animal placement.  Directs the proper utilization of inventory, purchasing and cash handling. Manages organization of animal populations and makes policy decisions based on life saving and no-kill principles with regards to animal intake and outcomes.  Ensures quality animal care and shelter cleanliness, with a strong focus on excellent customer service. Responsible for managing budgets, supervising staff, and writing policy and procedures. Ensures quality programming that is in accordance with organization’s mission, vision, goals, management, and resources.
