Sparky AKA Oven Mitt

Dear WAIF,

Thank you so much for my first anniversary letter. I have been living a life full of joy and comfort with my adoptive dad, James. I now go by the name of Sparky (previously Oven Mitt). My first month at my new home, I came down with FIP, a feline coronavirus, and spent two nights at the Pet Emergency Center in Mount Vernon. I then had to be put on a special medication, Molnupiravir, which we had to special order from New Jersey. After two months of medication and a lot of tender loving care, I was declared free of the virus, and I finally felt like eating and playing like a normal kitten.

Some of my favorite things to do around my new home are looking out the window, playing peek-a-boo with James, opening doors (especially the ones that are off limits), sleeping with James, playing with my many toys, and EATING! We have a big, fenced-in back yard to explore. At first, I was scared to go out and would just peek out the door, but little by little, James took me out each day, and now I have a desire to explore more. James has been trying to teach me to fetch a stick and bring it to him…like a dog? I do chase it and then take it in the house to chew and play with it. Who needs fancy toys! Anyway, I am not sure what else to say except to tell you I am healthy, happy, and well taken care of. Hope you all have a wonderful day, and I hope all your deserving cats and dogs find a wonderful home like I have.

Best regards,

Sparky
