Foster at WAIF

Thank you for considering the gift of fostering a WAIF shelter animal. Fostering can be a very fulfilling experience where you know that you have played a vital role with your foster pet’s journey into its forever home.

Dogs

We invite you to open your heart and home to senior dogs, special needs pups, and those healing from surgery or simply need a break from life in the shelter.

Puppies and kittens

When litters arrive, they may need gentle hands, patient socialization, or even round-the-clock bottle-feeding. Opening your home to puppies and kittens is a true labor of love that brings immense joy.

Adult cats

Cat fosters can offer a stable, loving environment to lessen stress, promote healing, and improve the animal’s overall health.

Some basic requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be prepared to begin fostering immediately.
  • Commit to fostering for the entire duration required.
  • Ensure all household pets are up to date on vaccinations.
