Nick’s Crisis Care Program
WAIF provides financial assistance to qualified low-income pet owners who can’t afford emergency medical care. This program is designed to help keep pets and families together, and this is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. WAIF’s Crisis Care Fund IS NOT to be used toward routine veterinary care such as vaccinations or spay/neuter surgeries. WAIF will assist with the cost of spaying/neutering through WAIF’s Prevent-a-Litter (PAL) coupon program for qualified low-income households. Before taking your pet to a participating veterinarian, please contact WAIF first to see if you qualify. WAIF can be reached at (360) 678-8901.
Since funding is limited, coupons are only issued to qualified Whidbey Island households. To qualify, adjusted annual income must be below the maximum income threshold.

Coupons provide up to $150 financial assistance for pet emergencies with participating local veterinarians. Coupons are not retroactive to cover past pet emergencies.
We do not ask for proof of income to affirm a need for financial assistance. If you feel you can pay for needed veterinary attention, WAIF thanks you for not using these limited funds so that financial aid can help the next animal in need. Please consider the possible use of your personal credit card and payment plans and attaining the lowest price possible for the needed procedure by applying for these limited funds. Thank you for your understanding.
