Make a Bequest

Thank you for considering a bequest through your will or living trust. The welfare of the animals in WAIF’s care depends upon the kindness and generosity of donors like you. Your bequest can be a specific sum, an estate percentage, or what remains of your estate after you have specified gifts to loved ones and covered expenses. Bequests may consist of money, stocks, real estate, and/or personal property such as valuable art or jewelry.

Here are just some benefits of a WAIF bequest:

  • You control your assets during your life.
  • You may change your bequest as your circumstances change.
  • You can work with WAIF to gear your bequest to a particular purpose.
  • There is no upper limit on estate tax deductions for charitable bequests.
  • You know that your gift will be used as you intended to help animals in need.

Another option to consider is a living trust. One advantage of a living trust, unlike a will, is that it can become effective immediately upon one’s death, thereby avoiding probate and insuring privacy. Please consult your attorney before finalizing any legal document. When you include WAIF in your will or living trust, you are given special recognition unless you wish your gift to remain anonymous. If you would like more information regarding leaving a financial or material gift to WAIF, please contact our Executive Director at 360-678-8900 ext. 1106 or email here.
