COVID-19 Update

Shelter Operations

Until further notice, WAIF will be conducting adoptions by appointment only Wed-Sun from 12pm-3pm. Animal surrenders continue, as per normal business operations, by appointment only.

If you are interested in adopting an animal you see on our website, please review our adoption guidelines prior to scheduling an appointment. If you wish to proceed, please call (360) 678-8901 or contact us by email here and our staff will guide you through the next steps of scheduling an appointment, completion of an adoption profile, and a possible meet and greet. Correspondence will be returned in the order of voicemails and emails received.

At this time, in addition to staff wearing required face coverings, we are requiring visitors to WAIF to wear face coverings as well. Subject to change as safety protocols allow.

We ask that fees, including adoption fees, be redeemed in the form of credit and debit cards. No cash or check transactions. No holds until adoptions are approved.

If you need assistance other than adoption (Prevent-a-Litter coupons, Crisis Care Assistance, surrenders, redemptions, license fees, etc.), please contact our front desk at (360) 678-8901.

If you are interested in volunteering at our thrift stores, please visit our thrift stores directly as they definitely need assistance sorting through all the generous donations given by our local island community. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Our as retail stores bounce back after temporary closures and our Spring Fling event canceled earlier this year, your support and compassion is very much appreciated. The impact of these events will be greatly felt in raising much needed funds for our homeless dogs and cats. If you are able, we would appreciate your support today to provide ongoing daily care and compassion for homeless pets.
