We’re happy to share with you our 2018 statistics for our sheltering services. These numbers include both the City of Oak Harbor Animal Holding Facility (now closed) and our main shelter in Coupeville, along with the Oak Harbor Cat Adoption Center and Freeland Cat Cottage.
Whidbey Island continues its long-term decline in lost and abandoned animals. This reflects a similar national trend of declining numbers entering shelters. WAIF Live Release Rate declined somewhat due to a group of FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) infected kittens that entered into shelter last spring.
