Hullo,

Thought you might like an update on our friend, Link.

He is a wonderful and amazing fellow. At the end of May, we had a Cub scout Crossover Ceremony – about 50 people, 30 of them children were in our yard for 4 hours. Link was ecstatic. Everyone petted him. The children followed and hugged and played with him and he was sweet through the whole thing. He received many, many compliments from the parents – about his beauty, his manners, his sweetness with people. Even a little boy who is very allergic to dogs and is likewise terrified of them, worked up his courage to talk to Link and stand beside him. Link seemed to understand the limits and sat in a most mannerly way.

My mother was visiting during the time. She grew up with dogs and had weimaraners for many years and her comment was that he was the politest, most mannerly dog she has ever met. High compliment indeed.

He and I have been attending Obedience classes for the past three weeks and the trainer is delighted with him. He is her choice when she needs an 'example' dog because he is so alert, intelligent and quick to respond. He has also impressed the other people in the class because where the rest of the dogs are barking and jumping about, Link sits and leans against me and watches.

And he and the cats are definitely at peace with one another. Indeed, my Siamese male who was initially the most concerned has recently taken to kissing Link. Grin. And our orange tabby girl curls up against him and goes to sleep. He just sighs and flops.

I have included a few more pictures for you. He has definitely gained weight – I would say he is about 75 lbs now and has filled out nicely. His energy level is much improved and he has made quite a few dog friends in our dog friendly neighborhood – not to mention that the neighbors have all adopted him:>

Hope you all have a wonderful day.
